DEPLOYMENT GUIDE

Your tools.
A quieter fleet.

A silent installer, a managed profile, and automatic license activation. Start with a small group of representative Macs before rolling out more widely.

01

Get your deployment files

Sign in to the organization portal. Download the Mac installer and the pre-filled configuration profile. Review the organization license, launch-at-login settings, and your organization’s chosen authentication policy.

02

Apply the profile first

Distribute the configuration profile to your pilot group and confirm that its managed preferences are applied before installing Veil. The profile carries the organization license and the settings employees should not change.

03

Deploy the silent package

Install Veil.pkg to the same group. The package installs to /Applications and starts Veil for logged-in GUI users. Managed launch at login handles the next session when no user is logged in.

04

Verify before expanding

Confirm automatic activation, managed settings, launch at login, and every connected display. Test the real desktop-agent workflow and authentication on return. Then expand the deployment scope.

Using Jamf Pro

Upload the configuration profile at computer level. After confirming it is applied, scope a package installation policy to the same computers. Use enrollment completion or recurring check-in, with installation once per computer.

Using Kandji

Add the configuration as a Custom Profile and the package as a Custom App on the same Blueprint. Ensure the profile is applied before the app activates. Optional user email templates from Jamf should be omitted or replaced with a literal value.

Manage authentication intentionally

Veil’s authentication delay applies to every veil, manual and automatic, and is checked on a later unveil attempt. It never locks macOS merely because time has elapsed. Align it with your approved use of an active session behind black displays.

Validate the signed package and configuration profile in your environment. Managed deployment does not override display compatibility or your organization’s security requirements.
